I was looking at some statistics from the first three weeks of the football season earlier this week. Here’s what stood out:

- Of the 144 minutes of football San Benito has played this season, they’ve trailed for all of 1 minute and 29 seconds.

- Through 3 games this season, San Benito has more than doubled its rushing yards when compared to the first 3 games of last season —— 322 yards rushing in 2008, 704 yards rushing in 2009.

- San Benito’s total offensive numbers include 868 yards for, 470 yards against; 164 passing yards for, 199 passing yards against; 704 rushing yards for, 271 rushing yards against.

- The Balers also have a perfect 80/20 game plan in favor of the run. 160 total offensive plays, 129 of which were on the ground.
