In 1979 I began training dogs for AKC dog shows, competing in different levels of obedience. Today I show English Labrador Retrievers in both conformation and obedience. My dogs are trained to hunt both in water and on land.

I have trained dogs for California Department of Agriculture. These dogs were a great asset in preventing agriculture pests from establishing themselves in California. Recently I provided dog training assistance to Alameda County. This dog will assist staff in detection of sources that may harbor mosquitoes, and prevent the spread of the West Nile Virus.

As a California State Humane Officer I became familiar with dogs in need of rescue and provided training to many of them. These dogs have many emotional and psychological demands that make their rehabilitation very challenging.

The education, training, and experience I have received during fifteen years with Santa Clara County as a Wildlife Specialist has been invaluable to me as a dog trainer. Handling coyotes extensively has provided me with a great understanding of canine behavior.

Recently my interest in training has drawn me into the world of service dogs. Several of my students have been certified to assist their owners with the daily tasks that challenge the disabled.

I train at Petco in Morgan Hill. I like to think of this as the front line in dog training. I see everything from new puppy owners to horribly disfunctional dog and owner combinations, red zone dogs with oblivious owners, or even nerotic owners with decent dogs they are trying to ruin.
