Meet Brigid Wasson
Brigid Wasson
Brigid Wasson has been an animal care professional all her life. She started volunteering at the Peninsula Humane Society in San Mateo in 1990, right after high school, where she worked in the Wildlife Rehabilitation Center and the Animal Behavior Department. She took a paid position as Assistant Manager of Customer Service/Adoptions where she stayed until 1995 when she started her own business, Morrigan’s Dog Walking & Pet Sitting. During that time she became involved in horse training and started another business, Epona Horsemanship, through which she helped people develop relationships with their horses using positive reinforcement. In 2005 she sold the pet sitting business and moved to San Francisco to manage an upscale boarding facility, Pet Camp. Always wanting to get back into the animal shelter world where she felt she could really make a difference, in 2007 she moved to San Jose and took a position in Customer Service/Adoptions with Humane
Society Silicon Valley. In 2008 she was offered the position of Animal Shelter Supervisor for the County of Santa Clara and jumped at the opportunity. She now works at the shelter in San Martin and lives in Gilroy with her Catahoula Leopard Dog, Remy, and several cats.
